The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Up with Hope, Down with Dope" was held in Budapest, Hungary, between 24–30 December 2023, coordinated by FACTOR Community Health and Sport Association.

Participants focused on transforming the knowledge they had gained into practical awareness initiatives that could reach their peers. Working in international teams, they designed creative campaigns using posters, presentations, and visual materials to communicate the risks of substance abuse and the importance of making healthy choices. These activities encouraged participants to think about how educational messages can be adapted for different audiences and communities.

Interactive workshops provided opportunities to improve teamwork, leadership, and communication skills while developing innovative prevention strategies. Participants exchanged ideas from their own countries, compared existing youth initiatives, and explored how sports, volunteering, arts, and community engagement can serve as positive alternatives to addictive behaviours. The collaborative environment strengthened intercultural dialogue and demonstrated the value of learning from diverse perspectives.

The programme also encouraged participants to present their campaign ideas and receive constructive feedback from other international groups. This process helped them refine their communication techniques, increase their confidence in public speaking, and better understand how awareness activities can inspire behavioural change. The presentations highlighted that effective prevention is built on empathy, accurate information, and active youth participation.

Reflection sessions allowed participants to evaluate both their personal development and the impact of the collaborative learning experience. By combining creativity, critical thinking, and international cooperation, the activities reinforced participants' motivation to become ambassadors for healthy lifestyles and to implement similar awareness initiatives in their local communities after returning home.
